issued indicative notices for 5,165
tentative vacancies under the RRB
NTPC 2026 recruitment drive. This recruitment encompasses Non-Technical
Popular Categories bifurcated into two separate notifications: Graduate Posts (CEN 06/2026) offering
Level-5 and Level-6 pay scales, and Undergraduate
Posts (CEN 07/2026) offering Level-2 and Level-3 pay scales.

Eligibility Criteria & Age
Limits
1. Educational Qualifications
·
Graduate Posts (Level 5 & 6): Bachelor’s
degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
·
Undergraduate Posts (Level 2 & 3): 12th
(+2 Stage) or equivalent examination passed from a recognized board.
·
Typing Skill Requirement: Posts with
'Typist' designations require computer typing proficiency (30 wpm in English or
25 wpm in Hindi).
2. Age Limits (Reckoned as on
January 1, 2027)
•
Undergraduate Level: 18 to 30 years.
• Graduate Level: 18 to 33 years.
• Category Relaxations:
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): +3 years
- SC / ST: +5 years
- PwBD: +10 to +15 years (depending on
community)
- Ex-Servicemen: Applicable service
length deduction + Central Government buffer.
Selection Process & Exam
Pattern
The recruitment involves multiple stages
depending on the post category:
1.
Computer-Based Test 1 (CBT 1)
Common screening test for all candidates.
• Questions & Time: 100 Objective MCQs in 90 minutes.
• Subject Distribution: General Awareness (40 marks), Mathematics (30 marks),
General Intelligence & Reasoning (30 marks).
• Marking: 1 mark per correct answer; 1/3rd negative marking for incorrect responses.
2.
Computer-Based Test 2 (CBT 2)
Separate level-wise exams for candidates clearing
CBT 1 cutoffs.
• Questions & Time: 120 Objective MCQs in 90 minutes.
• Subject Distribution: General Awareness (50 marks), Mathematics (35 marks),
General Intelligence & Reasoning (35 marks).
3.
Skill Test / CBAT (Post-Specific)
• Typing Skill Test: Qualifying test for Senior
Clerk cum Typist, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, and JAA.
• Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT): For Station Master / Traffic Assistant
roles (if included in specific regional cadres).
4.
Document Verification (DV) & Medical Examination
Verification of educational and identity records
followed by the post-specific medical test (A-2, A-3, B-2, or C-2).
How to Apply Online
1. Visit rrbapply.gov.in and complete the Create an Account
registration with your mobile number, email, and Aadhaar card details.
2. Log in and choose the relevant notification (CEN 06/2026 for
Graduate or CEN 07/2026 for Undergraduate).
3. Select your preferred Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) and submit
your post priority preferences.
4. Upload your photograph and signature in accordance with official
pixel and size dimensions.
5. Pay the application fee: ₹500 for General/OBC candidates (₹400
refunded after appearing in CBT 1) and ₹250 for SC/ST/Female/Minority/EWS/PwBD
candidates (fully refunded minus bank charges upon appearing in CBT 1).
6. Verify and submit your form, keeping a copy of the acknowledgment
slip for future reference.
